Admission
to the top B-Schools is usually a two stage
process :
- Written
Exam
The
written exam is of 2 hours duration consisting
of 150-185 multiple choice questions. The
exam comprises broadly of the following
sections: Quantitative Aptitude (Maths),
English Usage, Reading Comprehension, Reasoning,
Data Interpretation, Data Sufficiency &
Business Awareness.
- Group
Discussion/ Personal Interview
Depending
on the performance in the Written Exam,
candidates are short listed for the admission
process. Candidates are arranged in small
group (8 to 12 students) and are given a
topic to discuss upon. This discussion will
be observed by a panel of judges. The objective
of GD is to assess the personality of the
candidates by observing their communication,
persuasion skills, teamwork, leadership
ability, body language etc.
The
personal Interview is the last stage of
the admission process. An interview is a
face-to-face meeting for the purpose of
assessing the various personal attributes
of the candidate like communication skills,
ability to handle pressure, ability to plan
for oneself, as also social skill, honesty
and ethical values, integrity, openness
etc.
